Part-Time Milk Hauler-Driver (Grade A)

The Part-Time Milk Hauler-Driver (Grade A) is responsible for safely transporting quality milk from farmers in Marinette County to processing facilities in Oconto, Brown, and Outagamie Counties. This role requires operating a tanker truck with a manual transmission while adhering to strict quality, safety, and equipment maintenance standards. Effective communication with dispatchers, plant personnel, and dairy farmers is essential, along with the ability to perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations. Training is provided for obtaining a Sampler license.

Responsibilities

• Drive tanker trucks to pick up milk from farmers following quality guidelines
• Monitor milk temperature and verify weight during pickups
• Inspect hoses, pumps, and tanker equipment for proper function and cleanliness
• Maintain accurate records of milk quality and transport details
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, plant personnel, and dairy farmers using mobile phones and dispatch software
• Work flexible shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Attend training for Sampler license and safety compliance

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL with full tanker endorsement
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
• Sampler license (training provided)
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance
• Experience with temperature monitoring and weight verification
• Strong communication skills for interacting with multiple stakeholders
• Proficient in equipment inspection and maintenance
