A well-established structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection company is seeking an experienced professional to step into a newly created Estimating & Client Development role.
Position Overview
This role blends hands-on estimating, client relationship management, and project development. Working alongside an experienced Chief Estimator, you will help expand the company's project pipeline while building long-term contractor relationships.
This is not a traditional high-pressure sales role - success comes from credibility, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced steel industry professional seeking long-term career growth within a stable, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate structural and miscellaneous steel scopes
- Perform take-offs, pricing, and bid preparation
- Write clear, professional proposals
- Follow up on bids and negotiate scope, pricing, and terms
- Build and maintain contractor and client relationships
- Develop and manage a long-term project pipeline
- Represent the company in meetings, site visits, and industry interactions

- Estimating / Proposal Development (40%)
- Bid Follow-Up / Negotiation / Closing (25%)
- Client Relationship & Industry Presence (20%)
- Pipeline Development (15%)
Qualifications (Ideal Background)
- Experience in structural or miscellaneous steel
- Estimating or take-off experience preferred
- Fabrication or field experience strongly valued
- Comfortable working in both office & field environments
- Strong relationship-building and communication skils
- Excellent follow-through and responsiveness
