Commercial Litigation Associate

Compensation: $255,000 – $330,000

A nationally respected law firm is seeking a talented Commercial Litigation Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven litigator looking to work on sophisticated, high-stakes disputes alongside an accomplished and collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling complex commercial litigation matters, exceptional writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to manage cases with increasing independence.

What You'll Do

• Manage commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft and argue substantive motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, briefs, and other litigation filings
• Take and defend depositions
• Handle written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
• Appear in court and argue contested motions
• Collaborate closely with partners and clients to develop litigation strategy and drive favorable outcomes
• Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong commitment to client service

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm
• Strong experience drafting pleadings and contested motions
• Experience handling motions to dismiss and/or motions for summary judgment
• Deposition and written discovery experience required
• Prior courtroom experience arguing motions preferred
• Experience with complex business litigation, consumer class actions, trademark litigation, or trade secret disputes is highly valued
• Judicial clerkship experience is a plus
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• JD from a top-tier law school
• Active membership in the California State Bar, or pending admission
