Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Certified First Surgical Assistant (FA) in Mattoon, Illinois. This position involves performing at a competent level of technologist practice within the operating room, supporting various surgical procedures with a focus on patient care and safety. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Mattoon, Illinois
- Schedule: Days, 10 hours shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of FA experience
- Proficient in orthopedic procedures such as total joints, hip fractures, arthroscopy, open reduction internal fixations (ORIFs), and shoulder scopes and replacements
- Proficient in general, neuro, vascular, gynecological, and urological surgeries
- Must be proficient with Da Vinci robotic systems
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA) FA Certification
- Valid surgical history skills checklist current within the past year and pertinent to the operating room setting
- Able to provide two supervisory references with dates of employment
- Must bring current license on first day of work
- Work history documentation required
- Additional Information:
- On-call requirement: 5-6 call shifts per month
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
