Job Description
We are seeking a Planner Scheduler to be located at our corrugated container plant in Gastonia, NC. The focus of the Planner Scheduler position is the scheduling of the plant production. The Planner Scheduler works closely with all Customer Service groups, personnel, and transportation staff to manage the plant production schedule in a manner that allows for an orderly flow of production to customers, while minimizing costs. The overview of responsibility includes monitoring and effectively utilizing the receiving capabilities of the individual internal box plants to maintain appropriate inventory levels while scheduling open order and effectively employing the master schedule, ensuring orders are scheduled and sequenced to meet on-time delivery and the order fulfillment objectives.
Summary of Duties
- Uses knowledge of the production process and machine capabilities to analyze manufacturing orders and create production schedules
- Schedule machines and maintain scheduling board
- Set up bill of materials, routing and book production orders
- Release jobs to production; track orders and production information
- Update schedule and report progress to Production Manager; make schedule/production changes, as needed
- Responsible for Inventory Management for job specific supplies and materials
- Order job specific supplies as needed
- Create and/or maintain Daily/Monthly Reports
