Environmental Compliance Inspector

We have an immediate need for an Environmental Compliance Inspector in the Santa Clara and Fremont areas. This position requires oversight and implementation of biological, archaeological, and safety compliance on the jobsite. Position is a long-term part-time position, two full days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for reviewing project documents and evaluating requirements
• Review and document if any protect bird species, nests, and buffers are present
• Conduct daily field inspections to ensure all compliance is met
• Responsible for submitting daily inspection reports along with required photos to stakeholders
• Ability to conduct training providing daily environmental updates
• Have a clear understanding and coordinate with construction team determining the planned work activity along with any construction change orders
• May attend construction meetings as required

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Anthropology, Archaeology or related field
• 7 plus of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Experience conducting construction compliance monitoring along with demonstrated experience evaluating habitat suitability and identifying special-status wildlife in the Bay Area
• Knowledge and ability to identify general native and non-native plant and animal species
• Clear understanding of state and federal laws regarding the protection of species and habitats
• Knowledge of permit application requirements
• Excellent communication skills with detailed documentation with exceptional organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel
• Valid US Driver’s license required
