APEX Placement & Consulting has partnered with an exciting manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area looking to add a CNC Machinist to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be setting up and operating CNC milling equipment to produce high-quality machined parts while maintaining precision, safety, and efficiency. What your day will look like:
- Produce machined parts by setting up and operating mills and/or CNC machines
- Review work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings to plan machining operations
- Set up mills by tramming/indicating vises and work materials
- Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications
- Perform machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues as needed
- Maintain safe operations by following all company safety procedures and regulations
- Complete preventative maintenance requirements on machinery and equipment
- Communicate effectively between shifts regarding production status, irregularities, and ongoing needs
- Work within all company quality system requirements and standards
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
- Experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
- 5-Axis Heidenhain experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and measurements
- Aerospace, automotive, or defense industry experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
