Environmental Associate – Litigation & Regulatory

$235,000 – $365,000 annually

A leading global law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate to join its Environmental Practice in Washington, D.C. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated environmental litigation, regulatory, and infrastructure matters for clients across a broad range of industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on environmental regulatory compliance and administrative law matters
  • Support litigation and permitting matters involving major federal environmental statutes, including:
    • NEPA
    • Endangered Species Act
    • Clean Water Act
  • Handle complex environmental and infrastructure-related matters
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions and regulatory filings, and support strategic case development
  • Collaborate with attorneys across multidisciplinary environmental and regulatory matters
Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of environmental litigation and regulatory experience
  • Strong knowledge of administrative law and federal environmental statutes
  • Experience with infrastructure and permitting matters under federal regulatory programs
  • Experience involving chemicals, pesticides, consumer products, or emerging contaminants is a plus
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and research skills
  • Ability to manage matters independently in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Strong academic credentials and professional references required
