Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Step Down position requiring ACLS, strong cardiac and IV skills, and a current NY RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg Step Down unit within a hospital setting
- Cardiac drip management, EKG strip interpretation, and all types of wound care are core components of the role
- Strong IV skills required for day-to-day patient care
- Floating to Med/Surg is required
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Step Down or similar experience required
- Proficiency with IV insertion and management, cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and wound care required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Information
- An additional 8 hours of CEUs must be completed as part of facility orientation
- Two supervisor references are required for consideration — one from within the past year and one from within the past two years, each from someone who can speak to clinical skills and work ethic
- A skills checklist for the Med/Surg Tele specialty completed within the past year is required for consideration
