Production Operator
Location: Detroit, MI Shift: 3rd Shift Pay: $18.00/hr
Job SummaryWorkbox Staffing is hiring Production Operators in Detroit, MI for a metal processing facility. This role involves entry-level machine operation, loading and unloading materials, monitoring production output, and ensuring products meet quality standards. The ideal candidate has forklift experience, manufacturing experience, and is looking for a long-term opportunity in an industrial environment.
What You’ll Be DoingAs a Production Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
- Machine Operation: Operate production equipment according to work instructions and production standards.
- Material Handling: Load materials into the production area using a forklift and unload finished materials to shipping or storage areas.
- Production Monitoring: Check and inspect operation results against predetermined tolerances to ensure quality standards are met.
- Instruction Compliance: Scan products to access specific production instructions and follow process requirements.
- Quality Support: Transport products to the quality department for inspection and defect review.
Additional duties may include supporting team projects and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
What We’re Looking ForQualifications:
- Forklift experience is required
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Stable work history and longevity preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Experience working in an industrial environment is a plus
Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Basic computer skills for scanning and accessing work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
- Environment: Industrial metal processing facility; fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing setting
- Dress Code: Steel toe boots required; work-appropriate manufacturing attire
