Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
- Active Ohio PTA license required to start the assignment.
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
- Experience implementing treatment goals and assisting with interventions such as posture training, strengthening, endurance/cardiac training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, and functional skills training.
- Experience training patients in use of assistive devices (canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs) and proper guarding techniques.
- Experience documenting patient progress, providing patient and family education, and participating in team conferences.
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities including hot/cold packs, ultrasound, TENS, whirlpool, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and therapeutic pool preferred.
- Ability to follow safety, infection control, and equipment use policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Outpatient experience preferred.
- Experience with safe patient handling and materials handling preferred.
- Previous participation in quality improvement projects and peer education preferred.
