Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg float pool position on a night shift 8-week contract, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details\n

• Hospital-based Staffing Response Team/float pool position covering ICU, Intermediate Care, Med-Surg, and ED holding areas
\n
• Staff float to units within their qualified area and certifications
\n
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
\n
• 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours weekly
\n
• 8-week contract assignment
\n
• Weekends required on an every-other-weekend (EOW) basis
\n
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday (EOH) basis
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
\n
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
\n
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
\n
• TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
\n
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
\n
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
\n
• BSN or MSN preferred
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting
\n
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
\n
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
\n
• Assess patient education needs and provide relevant patient/family education
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
\n
• Identify and address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning
\n
• Assess and anticipate discharge planning needs for patients and families
\n
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and cost-effective care initiatives
\n
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
\n
