American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg float pool position on a night shift 8-week contract, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and a NC or compact RN license.

- Hospital-based Staffing Response Team/float pool position covering ICU, Intermediate Care, Med-Surg, and ED holding areas \n
- Staff float to units within their qualified area and certifications \n
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am \n
- 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours weekly \n
- 8-week contract assignment \n
- Weekends required on an every-other-weekend (EOW) basis \n
- Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday (EOH) basis \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n

- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license \n
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) \n
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required \n
- TNCC and CPI certifications preferred \n
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required \n
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required \n
- BSN or MSN preferred \n

- Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting \n
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director \n
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans \n
- Assess patient education needs and provide relevant patient/family education \n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care \n
- Identify and address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning \n
- Assess and anticipate discharge planning needs for patients and families \n
- Participate in unit performance improvement activities and cost-effective care initiatives \n
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment \n
