AER Systems is a young, fast-growing HVAC and mechanical contractor based in Carlsbad. We are SDVOSB and DVBE certified, built by experienced operators who decided to do things differently. We use AI tools across estimating, documentation, and operations — not as a trend, but because we genuinely believe technology makes great people even better. We move fast, we communicate directly, and we take real pride in the work.

We have two active multifamily HVAC projects in San Diego County and we are looking for a Project Manager who wants to own them — not just manage them.

This role is for someone who finds energy in complexity. You like having a lot of balls in the air. You are the person who already knows what the next problem is going to be before it arrives, and you show up with a plan. You like building things — not just the physical kind. You want to help shape how a young company runs, not just execute inside one that already has it figured out.

You will have real authority here. Decisions do not get stuck waiting for approval. You will have direct access to a CEO and Director of Operations who have built serious projects and who are genuinely invested in your success. When you figure out a better way to do something, we want to hear it.

What the work looks like:
You will manage two concurrent multifamily HVAC projects — a 103-unit prevailing wage development in San Ysidro and a multi-story mixed-use project in San Diego. Full ownership from mobilization through closeout: schedules, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change orders, cost tracking, GC relationships, field coordination. Procore is our system of record and you will live in it. We also use AI tools daily for drafting, research, and documentation — comfort with that is a real requirement, not a nice-to-have.

What we are looking for:

• 2+ years as a PM on commercial or multifamily construction projects
• Genuine Procore proficiency — you use it fully, not selectively
• Experience writing and pricing change orders independently
• Strong written communication — your RFIs and correspondence represent this company
• Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) as part of your workflow
• Based in or willing to work in San Diego County; site visits are part of the job
• HVAC, mechanical, or MEP background strongly preferred
• Multifamily experience strongly preferred
