Position:      Assistant Controller

Location:     Midtown, NYC (Hybrid)

Salary:         100k – 130k + Bonus

Fast Paced Investment Bank seeks an Assistant Controller to join their Team

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Controller as a key member of a three-person team. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the preparation of the following processes:

• Monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statement Close Process
• Bank reconciliations
• A/R, A/P sub-ledger management
• Fixed assets sub-ledger management
• Accrued expenses and taxes
• Accrued compensation
• Revenue recognition
• Payroll reconciliations
• Manage revenue and expense billing processes
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors over A/P and expense and close management processes
• Work within the Firm’s accounting software to prepare and record journal entries
• Manage the internal control framework and documentation of controls execution
• Work with PWC Audit Team on all audit requests and annual Financial Statements
• Work with outsourced FINOP to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to FINRA
• Assist in review of Partnership Tax Returns and K1s
• Support cash management activities, including monitoring balances and payment execution

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Finance
• CPA or working toward CPA
• 3-7 years of experience in public accounting or a reputable accounting department
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts
• Experience working with monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements
• Demonstrated commitment to high‑quality work products through rigor, precision, and thoughtful execution
• Experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred, not required)
• Partnership Tax knowledge
