Shipping and Receiving Assistant

Mission: A leading Florida commercial elevator design, remodeling & manufacturing firm is seeking a highly organized and reliable Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team at Vasile Elevator Inc. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an efficient and organized shipping and receiving process. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including cleaning the shop facility, managing hardware inventory, building crates for shipments, assisting different departments of the shop, and handling tools.

Responsibilities/Functions

• Construct crates and packaging materials for shipments, ensuring that they meet the required standards for safe transportation.

• Proficient in ERP systems and general computer applications, including Microsoft Office, inventory tracking, shipping documentation, and data entry.

• Clean the shop facility regularly to ensure a safe and organized working environment.

• Assist various departments within the shop with tasks as needed, providing support and contributing to overall operational efficiency.

• Operate a forklift to move and transport materials safely and efficiently.

• Demonstrate proficiency in handling various tools, equipment, and machinery.

• Make deliveries/pick ups

• Keep Inventory Current

Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Experience in shipping and receiving or a related field is preferred.

• Proficient in ERP systems and general computer applications, including Microsoft Office, inventory tracking, shipping documentation, and data entry.

• Experience operating a forklift is required. Certification preferred.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects – minimum of 50lbs.

• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
