Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core financial operations. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist who can oversee reporting accuracy, guide daily accounting activities, and support informed financial decision-making. The position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and experience working with complex financial data in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial activity.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and analyze detailed financial reports, identifying discrepancies and resolving accounting issues effectively.
• Support external and internal audit activities by coordinating schedules, providing documentation, and addressing audit inquiries.
• Supervise accounting staff, assign priorities, and provide guidance to promote consistent performance and development.
• Monitor accounting processes and controls to improve accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute expertise on reimbursement-related accounting matters, cost reporting, and other healthcare finance considerations as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.• Certified Public Accountant license with at least five years of corporate accounting experience, or six years of progressively responsible accounting experience with broad knowledge of business practices, accounting systems, and reimbursement concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare complex financial reports and resolve accounting issues with sound judgment.
• Prior experience leading or supervising team members in an accounting environment.
• Strong proficiency with computerized general ledger systems and business software, including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation tools.
• Solid background in month-end close, general ledger management, account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial statement audit support.
• Preferred: CPA credential, three years of supervisory experience, and familiarity with healthcare reimbursement, nonprofit tax matters, and cost report preparation.
