Location: Byron Center
Compensation & Shift Details:
- Hourly Rate: Starting at $18 per hour, based on experience
- Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday 5:00 am – 3:30 pm; Fridays 5:00 am – Noon; Saturdays as needed (hours may vary with overtime)
- 2nd shift- Mon-Friday - 12:00-11:30 (working 11 hr shifts)
About the Role:
As a Brake Press Operator, you will be a vital part of our manufacturing process, responsible for producing high-precision metal components. This role involves setting up, adjusting, and operating press brake machinery to meet exact specifications. You’ll work in a dynamic environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency, ensuring every piece meets customer standards and production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, calibrate, and operate press brake machines to produce precise metal parts in accordance with blueprints and work instructions
- Select and change tooling, adjust ram positions, speeds, and backstops to ensure accuracy and quality control
- Record production output and scrap data accurately within the ERP system
- Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on machines
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Conduct first-piece inspections and make adjustments as needed to ensure consistent quality
- Collaborate with team members and communicate any operational issues promptly
- Adhere strictly to safety policies, industry regulations, and company procedures
- Perform physical activities regularly, including lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Hilo certification may be necessary
- At least 1 year of press brake operation or metal fabrication experience preferred
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
- Good eyesight, including depth perception and color differentiation
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Skilled in bending, forming, and rolling techniques
- Reliable, positive attitude, with energy and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs consistently
