General Manager

Summary

A growing mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC General Manager to lead day-to-day operations across commercial and residential service divisions. This role is responsible for overseeing operations, technician performance, financial performance, staffing, customer relationships, and overall departmental growth.

The ideal candidate has strong operational leadership experience within HVAC service environments and can lead teams while driving profitability, accountability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the HVAC service division
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and overall financial performance
• Lead technician meetings, staffing, and team development
• Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture
• Monitor operational efficiency and implement process improvements
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and training of new employees
• Work closely with HR regarding employee performance and personnel matters
• Maintain strong communication with customers, field teams, and leadership
• Review bids, proposals, and project/service opportunities
• Support employee engagement, accountability, and long-term development
• Track KPIs, reporting, and departmental performance metrics

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial and residential HVAC service leadership
• Previous experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role
• Background managing technicians, operations, and departmental performance
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
• Basic sales and customer relationship management experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management software
• ServiceTitan experience is a plus
