Clinical Care Assistant

We're hiring now for Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant to support our patients and care teams by helping with screenings, specimen collection, health record updates, exam room preparation, and supply management. There are multiple positions open for a facility expansion happening soon.

Schedule: Full Time | 8:30am-5:00pm or 7:30am – 4:00pm | no weekends or holidays

Pay Range: $18.95/hr. - $24.95/hr.

Required Qualifications:  

Education

• High School Diploma/GED 

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period) 

Experience 

• One year of recent healthcare experience in a hospital or ambulatory, homecare, assisted living, nursing home or long-term care setting OR additional formal training/education 

Position Overview

This role supports patients and care teams by helping with screenings, specimen collection, health record updates, exam room preparation, and supply management. You’ll also monitor and share important patient information while gaining hands-on experience with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and registering patients.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care in an outpatient clinic under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP). 
• Complete the rooming process, including vitals, height, weight, intake questions, documentation and reporting abnormal findings. 
• Collect patient specimens, perform point of care testing and prepare specimens for transport to the lab. 
• Prepare patients for and assist with exams, tests and procedures, such as EKG, Holter monitor application, pulse oximetry, hearing and vision screening, disinfection and sterilization. 
• Administer treatments as directed, including the application of heat or cold, simple sterile dressing changes and applying/removing casts, braces and splints. 
• Review printed instructions with patients. 
• Assist with wound care. 
• Document in the electronic health record. 
• Assist with setting and closing the clinic.
• Stock supplies and linens. 
• Clean, monitor expiration dates and restock dressing supply carts, check AED units and oxygen tanks, and empty needle boxes using appropriate safety measures. 
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.

Required qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in the healthcare industry
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 18 years or older

• At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
• Able to comfortably lift 20 lbs
