About the Role:
Join Sylvan Learning Center in Monroe, WA as a Part-time Teacher for K-12 English and Math! We're looking for passionate educators who inspire students to achieve their academic goals while fostering a love for learning in a supportive environment. Do what you love - teach! No preparation, no grading, no parent interaction required
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, personalized instruction in English and Math for K-12 students.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to center staff to tailor individual learning plans.
- Create a positive and motivating learning environment.
- Utilize Sylvan's proprietary curriculum and teaching methods.
- Uses praise and encouragement to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn
- Motivates students with Sylvan tokens given for specific achievements according to the Sylvan instructional management standards
- Records and tracks tokens earned by students
- Participate in training sessions to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom setting.
- Support students in building confidence and academic skills.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
- Teaching certification or relevant experience in K-12 education.
- Strong understanding of English and Math curriculum standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and student assessment.
- Positive attitude and a commitment to fostering a love of learning.
