Radiation Technician – Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Practice (Part-Time/PRN) No nights, weekends or holidays

Position Summary 
Spine Institute of the Carolinas is seeking a Part-Time/PRN Radiation Technician to perform high‑quality diagnostic X‑rays for clinic patients in a fast‑paced, patient‑centered environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skill, excellent communication, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Patient X‑rays — Capture high‑quality diagnostic images for orthopaedic and spine evaluations.

  • Maintain Radiation Safety — Follow all safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself.

  • Support Clinical Workflow — Assist providers by preparing imaging rooms, positioning patients, and ensuring efficient patient flow.

  • Document and Manage Imaging — Accurately label, upload, and maintain imaging records in the EMR.

  • Provide Patient Education — Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients about procedures.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Team — Work closely with surgeons, PAs, nurses, and medical assistants to support patient care.

  • Uphold Quality Standards — Ensure imaging accuracy and consistency for diagnostic and surgical planning.

  • Participate in Professional Development — Engage in ongoing training and continuing education.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapy Technologist certification or equivalent state license.

  • Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field.

  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred; but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in imaging.

  • Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced orthopaedic environment.

  • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and best practices.

  • Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient care.

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
