Job Description
Title: Machine Operator 1
Location: Mebane North Carolina 27302
Duration: 4+ months
Schedule: Mon–Fri 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (overtime as needed)
Pay rate: $19.50
Job Summary
Operate and monitor automated assembly equipment to perform routine production functions—including assembling, packing/packaging, labeling, and inspection—while following established procedures and meeting quality, safety, and productivity requirements. Maintain accurate production documentation in accordance with FDA requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and ISO 9000 standards. Work effectively in a team environment under direct supervision and support area goals and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, start, operate, and monitor automated assembly machines and related equipment per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Load components/materials, verify correct parts/labels, and ensure proper machine settings for the work order.
- Perform in-process checks and visual inspections to verify product quality; identify and segregate nonconforming material.
- Complete required production records, logs, and batch documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; perform routine equipment cleaning as required by GMP and safety practices.
- Escalate equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and quality concerns to the Team Lead/Supervisor; assist with basic troubleshooting within role scope.
- Follow all safety, housekeeping, and quality policies; wear required PPE and comply with training requirements.
- Support team goals by rotating across tasks/workstations as assigned and assisting coworkers as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Experience: Prior manufacturing/production experience in machine paced manufacturing environment (required)
Skills: Ability to read, write, interpret, and follow instructions/specifications in English; basic math skills; attention to detail; effective communication; ability to work well in a team environment.
Work Requirements: Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours and report to work on a regular, punctual basis; willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities; ability to make routine decisions within standard practices under direct supervision.
