Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position at a hospital in Massachusetts, requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and an active MA RN license.

• Work in a 25-bed Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit encompassing L&D, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery (NBN), 2 ORs, 2 recovery rooms, and 2 ANU rooms with 4 beds
\n
• Patient population includes laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns with an average daily census of 15–25
\n
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: L&D 1:2–3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, Magnesium drip, or epidural; Postpartum 1:3–4
\n
• Night shift schedule: 19:00–07:30
\n
• 36-hour weekly schedule with every other weekend (EOW) requirement
\n
• 13-week contract
\n
• No floating required
\n
• EMR: Epic (charting experience required)
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
\n
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
\n
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), NRP, and EFM (renewed every 2 years)
\n
• MGB EFM certification accepted from NCC, K2, or AWHONN with 2-year renewal
\n
• Skills required: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum care, OR circulating, and Newborn care
\n
• 2 professional references required for consideration
\n
• Flu vaccine required — no religious or medical exemptions accepted
\n

• Responsibilities include caring for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients across L&D, OR, recovery, and antepartum settings
\n
• Candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are considered local and subject to a reduced pay rate
\n
• Timekeeping system: UKG/Kronos
\n
• Parking is not validated at Boston-area locations; public parking is available at candidate expense (approximately $17–$22/day)
