Safety Manager
MSI Structural Steel is a rapidly expanding Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection
Company. We have an opening for a Safety Manager given our current one is
scheduled for retirement. This position is both site safety in our Anaheim, CA facility
with oversight of construction site safety at job sites in the greater Orange and Los
Angeles Counties, Inland Empire and other parts of California
The responsibilities of Safety manager in general, is responsible for ensuring
compliance with regulatory bodies and standards, conducting audits and reviews of
existing health and safety policies, advising employees on safety procedures,
conducting training sessions, and addressing incidents and injuries. They are required
to ensure their health and safety plans comply with industry standards and legislation.
Their duties include monitoring health hazards in the workplace, advising staff on ways
to minimize risks, and designing safety-monitoring systems
The Safety Manager will have oversight of both shop and field crew safety and
protocols. Experience on construction sites, erector safety standards will be an essential
part of the job scope.

Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in a related field or five or more years of related construction
and safety experience
● OSHA 30
● Must possess intermediate computer skills including the ability to utilize word
processing, spreadsheet and email applications
● The team member must be an energetic, self-motivated individual who works
well in a team environment and is willing to grow with the company.
● Use problem solving skills to address unforeseen problems
● Bilingual in Spanish - highly desirable
● Fall Protection Competent
● Rigging Crane Experience
● Osha Subpart R
Responsibilities
● Under the direction of the General Manager, responsible for promoting the safety
program throughout the company and designated region
● Reinforce compliance to a Safety Manual delegated by MSl and/or Customer
requirements at field sites.
● Correspondence with field crews for safety initiatives.
● Ensure compliance and process continuity as dictated by City, State and Federal
regulations.
● Training of all employees on new and reoccurring safety and health issues in the
construction industry at the direction of the direct report
● Provide Safety/Operations/Senior management leads with documented safety
exposures, patterns, and scenarios for needed improvement
● Facilitate, manage and control fleet safety indoctrination of new team members
● Evaluate program periodically for improvement
● Assist Fleet Manager with fleet related operations
● Assure sound driving practices
● Responsible for site needs and compliance as it relates to safety and compliance
● Responsible for facilities SDS compliance
● Provide internal and external promotion of the companys safety program
● Ensure project safety pre-planning, subcontractor pre-qualification, customer
pre-qualification and pre-construction meetings are completed as required.
● Completion of all incident investigations to determine root cause and
corrective actions necessary
● Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat, safe and orderly fashion
