Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Oklahoma City, requiring 5 years of L&D experience in a Level 1 trauma setting and at least 2 years of travel nursing experience.

  • Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit in an acute care hospital setting
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active OK state RN license or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
  • Required certifications (American Heart Association only): BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP Advanced Provider or NRP Instructor
  • Minimum of 5 years of L&D nursing experience in a Level 1 trauma setting
  • Minimum of 2 years of travel nursing experience
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
  • Proficient in professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of diverse patients and visitors
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient caseload, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Collaborates with patients and families on care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may return after a 6-month separation period; extensions are limited to one time, for a maximum total of 26 weeks
  • Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after accepting an offer — the facility will not accommodate delayed start dates for non-compliant travelers
  • Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
