Special Education Teacher in Parachute, CO

Key Qualifications:

• Current Colorado Teaching License
• SPED Endorsement required
• Experience working with students in grades 6–12 preferred
• Proficient at creating inclusive learning environments for students with mild to moderate behavioral and academic needs
• Willingness to offer hands-on personalized support, including assistance with toileting if necessary
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 25–30 students with diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to individual strengths and challenges
• Work in partnership with other educators and support staff to foster student success
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
• Engage positively with families to encourage an inclusive school community
