We are seeking a Student Intern to join the Hinson Lab at JAX in Farmington, CT.

About Your JAX Internship Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the research team with basic lab tasks such as preparing solutions, labeling, and organizing samples.

  • Observe and learn about cell culture techniques and other laboratory procedures.

  • Compile and organize research data under guidance.

  • Attend team meetings to understand the research process and findings.

  • Assist with literature searches and summaries to support ongoing research.

  • Learn and strictly adhere to lab safety protocols and guidelines.

Desired Qualifications

JAX encourages applications from a diverse mix of educational backgrounds and experiences. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Currently enrolled in high school with a strong interest in science, particularly biology or medicine.

  • Basic understanding of scientific principles, as demonstrated in coursework.

  • Strong organizational and note-taking skills.

  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn.

  • Ability to commit to the duration of the internship.

The hourly pay rate for this position is $17.50
