The Opportunity

Fox Construction Inc., the Yampa Valley's longest-standing custom general contractor, is seeking a skilled Custom Home Superintendent and Working Field Lead to manage daily site operations across our high-end residential and commercial developments.


In this hands-on field leadership position, you will take complete ownership of jobsite setup, subcontractor coordination, material logistics, safety enforcement, and daily build execution from initial mobilization through final punch-list handover. Working alongside project managers and master trade craftsmen, you will lead daily site operations while maintaining strict quality standards and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Jobsite Operational Leadership: Oversee, sequence, and supervise daily on-site building operations from initial site mobilization through final client walkthrough.
  • Pre-Construction Site Setup: Manage site logistics, utility hookups, equipment staging, job trailers, temporary power, perimeter fencing, and scaffolding setup.
  • Subcontractor & Crew Direction: Supervise internal field crews, specialty subcontractors, and material vendors to ensure adherence to architectural plans, safety standards, and project schedules.
  • Hands-On Field Execution: Lead field activities on-site, including framing layout, custom carpentry, concrete placement support, and general site logistics.
  • Safety & OSHA Enforcement: Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), conduct weekly safety toolbox talks, enforce fall protection standards, and maintain strict OSHA safety compliance.
  • Material & Logistics Architecture: Coordinate and track site material deliveries, equipment rentals (forklifts, skid steers, cranes), and utility schedules to prevent downtime.
  • Digital Field Reporting: Maintain daily logs, timesheets, three-week lookahead schedules, as-built drawings, and digital progress photos via mobile construction software.
  • Final Punch List & Project Closeout: Lead final punch-list completion, site demobilization, warranty documentation, and clean project handovers.


What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

  • Dedicated Field Experience: Proven track record as a Construction Superintendent, Working Foreman, or Senior Lead Carpenter in high-end residential or commercial construction.
  • Trade Mastery & Tool Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of carpentry practices, structural framing, finish millwork, building specs, and heavy equipment operation (skid steers, telehandlers).
  • Physical Capability & Environmental Endurance: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, navigate scaffolding/ladders, and manage active field sites in outdoor mountain weather conditions year-round.
  • Safety Competency: Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards, trench protection, and jobsite risk mitigation.
  • Driver Credentials: Valid Driver License with a clean, insurable driving record.


Preferred

  • Regional Experience: Prior experience building in mountain resort environments or high-altitude weather conditions.
  • Language Capabilities: Conversational or fluent Spanish communication skills.
  • Safety Certifications: Active OSHA 10/30 or CPR/First Aid credentials.
