Receiving / Warehouse Operations

About This Role

This role focuses on receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations for a busy flooring store.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of incoming product, maintain accurate inventory, and keep materials and jobs moving without constant direction.

What You'll Do

• Receive all incoming product and verify against purchase orders
• Inspect materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies
• Accurately process receiving paperwork and update inventory
• Maintain organized and accurate inventory, including cycle counts
• Track backorders and communicate product status to the team
• Load installers and customers safely and efficiently (forklift or by hand)
• Stage materials for upcoming jobs to ensure install readiness
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse at all times
• Rotate stock and manage product placement for efficiency
• Assist with unloading trucks and stocking materials
• Maintain exterior areas (dumpster, parking lot, snow removal as needed)
• Assist in tracking purchase orders and incoming shipments
• Communicate with vendors and team on order status and delays
• Help ensure materials are available for scheduled jobs
• Maintain accurate documentation for inventory and transfers

Requirements

• Previous warehouse, receiving, or inventory experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs regularly
• Forklift certification/experience
• Comfortable using computers and basic systems
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Reliable with consistent attendance
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Contributes to a positive, solutions-focused work environment
• Standing, walking, bending throughout the day
• Working in indoor and outdoor conditions (including weather changes)

Nice To Haves

• Background in flooring, construction, or building materials
• Experience working with purchase orders, backorders, and vendor communication
• Experience maintaining accurate inventory and performing cycle counts
• Ability to identify and resolve shipment discrepancies
