Materials Product Development Leader

We are partnering with a flagship manufacturing company seeking a Materials Product Development Leader.

This leadership role is focused on customer-driven product development, application engineering, technical commercialization, and technical roadmap development. The position will lead a team of metallurgists and engineers supporting new material solutions, customer applications, and strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product development and application engineering initiatives from concept through commercialization
• Partner directly with customers to solve technical and application challenges
• Build technical roadmaps supporting growth across Aerospace, Defense, Energy, and related markets
• Lead and develop a team of metallurgists and technical engineers
• Support technical investigations, failure analysis, and customer issue resolution efforts
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams
• Drive customer-focused technical innovation and long-term product growth initiatives

Ideal Background

• Materials Science, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or related technical background
• Experience leading product development, application engineering, technical service, or commercialization initiatives within materials-based manufacturing environments
• Strong customer-facing technical leadership experience
• Aerospace, Defense, Energy, specialty metals, forgings, bearings, heat treat, or advanced manufacturing industry experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary target approximately $140K–$190K
• 20% bonus opportunity
