???? Position Summary

The Unarmed Security Guard plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and peaceful environment for all congregants, staff, and visitors. This position requires vigilance, professionalism, and compassion, ensuring the church remains a sanctuary both spiritually and physically.

???? Key Responsibilities

• Monitor premises during services, events, and operating hours to deter unauthorized activity or disturbances

• Patrol church grounds including parking lots, entrances, and common areas

• Assist with crowd control during high-attendance services, weddings, funerals, and community events

• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, disturbances, or suspicious behavior

• Provide directions and support to visitors and congregants, especially during large gatherings

• Collaborate with church staff to ensure safety protocols are followed

• Document incidents and maintain accurate logs of security-related activities

• Ensure doors, windows, and gates are secured at designated times

• Support evacuation procedures in case of fire, medical emergency, or other threats

???? Qualifications & Skills

• Completion of professional security training (active guard card, unarmed certification required)

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or public safety (3+ years)

• Strong observational and communication skills

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion

• Familiarity with basic first aid and emergency response protocols

• Respect for the church’s mission, values, and diverse community

• Must pass background check and maintain a clean record

???? Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods

• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

• May be required to lift or move objects up to 25 lbs
