Risk Management Specialist - Contract to Hire
We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation professional to serve as a subject matter expert overseeing complex, lost-time claims. This role is responsible for end-to-end claim management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong performance from third-party administrators (TPAs).

$35.00 per hour

Pay Rate of the Risk Management Specialist:
$35.00 per hour
Responsibilities of the Risk Management Specialist:
- Lead the full lifecycle management of complex, lost-time Workers’ Compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate handling
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert, providing guidance on best practices, compliance, and claim strategy
- Monitor and evaluate TPA performance through regular audits, identifying opportunities to improve outcomes and reduce costs
- Manage high-risk, litigated claims with significant settlement exposure and authority
- Partner closely with legal counsel to develop case strategies, set appropriate reserves, and drive favorable claim resolutions
- Proactively identify cost containment opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies across all claims activity
- 2 years of college or specialized training.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with negotiation, organization, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
