Job Description
DEPARTMENT: Planning
POSITION ACCOUNTABLE TO: Customer Support Supervisor
POSITION TYPE: Full-time or part-time, hourly (Non-exempt)
JOB SUMMARY: Prepare the step-by-step processing plan in the form of a job traveler document based on customer and specification requirements. The position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team in a fast –paced environment on a daily basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Read and understand Hixson Metal Finishing procedures (HPS’s)
o Understand and perform Contract Review process
o Understand Hixson Metal Finishing’s processing capabilities
o Work in accordance with customer and regulatory (i.e. FAA) requirements
o Correctly interpret customer PO requirements
o Read and understand specification requirements and verify this against customer requirements
o Read and understand basic drawing / blueprint requirements
o Interface with customers regarding questions relating to their purchase order requirements, missing information on PO, etc.
o Prepare Job Travelers, certifications, and prepare/maintain frozen process procedures
o Follow all safety policies and procedures
o Receiving Inspection: Count, Visual Inspection, Completion of Previous Operations, etc.
o Maintain a clean and organized department (daily)
o Process parts in accordance with customer requirements, procedures, work instructions, and job traveler with a high level of quality to achieve part conformity
o Complete orders in accordance with the production schedule
o Complete all necessary processing paperwork with accuracy
o Ensure 100% quality and on-time delivery for customer orders
o Perform in-process inspections
o Participate in corrective actions and support troubleshooting of discrepancies
o Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
o Work overtime/ weekends as needed to support customer needs
REQUIRED SKILLS:
o Good communication skills, both written and verbal
o Good customer service skills
o Ability to read and write in English
o Legible handwriting
o Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
o Basic sketch and blueprint reading skills
o Use inspection equipment (calipers, micrometer, mechanical gages, x-ray, and thickness gages)
o Detail-oriented
o Basic computer skills
o Basic mathematics skills
o Positive, can-do attitude with excellent attendance and punctuality
o Must be able to work independently with little supervision after completion of the training period
PREFERRED SKILLS:
o Familiarity with process specifications in related industry, AS9100D Requirements, and Nadcap Chemical Processing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Ability to stand and/or walk on your feet for extended periods of time
o Must pass a drug test and criminal background check
o Ability to lift and move 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
o High School Diploma
