Overview
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for delivering consistent, compliant, and employee-focused HR practices across the organization. This role provides expert guidance on employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, leave of absence administration, and ADA accommodations. The Human Resources Manager partners closely with leaders to manage risk, support performance, and enhance the overall employee experience.
This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who exercises sound judgment, handles sensitive issues with discretion, and thrives in a fast-paced, corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Investigations
- Lead workplace investigations, including intake, interviews, documentation, and findings
- Partner with HR leadership to ensure timely, fair, and compliant resolution
- Advise managers on employee relations matters, corrective action, and documentation
- Identify trends and recommend policy or training improvements
Performance Management
- Support leaders in setting clear expectations and managing performance concerns
- Guide corrective action and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
- Ensure consistency and compliance in performance management practices
Leaves of Absence
- Administer Leaves of Absence, including FMLA, PFML, unpaid, and non-standard leaves
- Ensure compliance with eligibility, timelines, and documentation requirements
- Coordinate with Payroll and HR Operations on benefits and return-to-work transitions
ADA Accommodations
- Manage the interactive ADA accommodation process from request through resolution
- Educate managers on ADA requirements and reasonable accommodations
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure equitable outcomes
Compliance & Policy
- Support HR policy development and implementation aligned with employment laws
- Assist with internal audits, compliance reviews, and risk mitigation efforts
- Train leaders on HR policies, documentation standards, and compliance expectations
Collaboration
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Payroll, and organizational leaders
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to managers and employees
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Strong knowledge of federal and Washington State employment laws (ADA, FMLA, PFML, WLAD, EEOC)
- Experience conducting investigations and handling complex employee relations matters
- Excellent judgment, communication, and documentation skills
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (ADP WorkforceNow preferred)
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience supporting managers in a multi-department or distributed environment
Work Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Office-based role with routine computer and office equipment use
- Ability to travel between work locations as needed
- Hybrid or onsite expectations based on business needs
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
- Washington State residency required for roles with onsite or hybrid expectations
