Stellar Solutions is seeking a Mission Modeling & Simulation Engineer to support advanced mission engineering and digital analysis efforts within SSIO. In this role, you will contribute to enterprise-level mission thread analysis, architecture assessments, and large-scale simulation activities supporting next-generation space and defense capabilities.
This position offers the opportunity to work across mission engineering, digital engineering, modeling & simulation, and systems analysis efforts supporting highly visible national security space programs. The selected candidate will collaborate with government customers, SETA/FFRDC organizations, and industry partners to support mission analysis activities that inform operational risk, architecture trade studies, and future capability decisions.
In this role, you will:
- Support mission thread analysis, architecture evaluations, and system-level trade studies
- Analyze simulation outputs and communicate technical findings to program leadership and government stakeholders
- Support technical interchange meetings, customer briefings, mission analysis reviews, and demonstrations to government stakeholders
- Collaborate with government, SETA, FFRDC, and contractor teams supporting enterprise mission engineering initiatives
- Assist with development of scalable cloud-based simulation and analysis workflows
- Support development of reusable modeling, simulation, and analysis frameworks
- Contribute to identification and assessment of mission risks, issues, and gaps (RIG)
- Develop high-fidelity simulation software and analysis tools for a diverse range of complex systems and validate these models against real-world data
- Perform code review for peers and provide technical feedback and suggestions to other engineering teams to drive platform improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- 3-7 years of experience in modeling & simulation, systems engineering, mission analysis, mission engineering, or digital engineering
- Experience supporting space, missile defense, OPIR, SDA, BMC3, or related national security space programs
- Experience with one or more technical tools/languages such as MATLAB, Python, , or similar modeling and analysis environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong data analysis skills working with large datasets
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working in collaborative, multi-organization technical environments
- Experience supporting customer briefings or technical presentations Experience supporting mission engineering or enterprise architecture analysis efforts
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with MBSE and digital engineering methodologies
- Experience with cloud-based simulation or distributed analysis environments
- Knowledge of space mission architectures, constellation analysis, or missile warning/tracking systems
- Experience supporting SSC, Space Force, SDA, or related defense organizations
Compensation:
The typical salary pay range for this position is USD $120,000 - $150,000 annually. Several factors are considered when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role responsibilities, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, participation in our profit sharing/retirement plan (PSP), and a comprehensive benefits package.
