American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification, MBSS experience, and a minimum of 2 years of acute hospital experience for a 13-week travel contract in Walterboro, SC.
Details- Hospital-based position on the 4th floor, with floating expected between the inpatient rehabilitation unit and the acute care hospital floor
- 14-bed rehab unit within a 135-bed acute care hospital, including a 7-bed ICU
- Caseload typically includes approximately 5-6 rehab patients seen 3-5x/week based on frequency and need, plus an acute caseload that varies; outpatient modified barium swallow studies performed approximately once per week
- Performs Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
- Documentation in Meditech
- Day shift, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with flexible start/stop times
- One weekend per month required, with the option to flex a day during the week
- No call requirements
- 3 PRN speech therapists assist throughout the week and weekend
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as an SLP
- Active experience within the last 6 months in the specialty
- Acute hospital setting experience required
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) required
- SC SLP license required if applicable
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- FEES certification and experience is preferred
- The facility is Joint Commission Stroke Certified and a Top 10% national performer for PEM
- Scrub color: light grey tops and bottoms; black pants are also acceptable
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates will be considered
