Job Description
The Legal and Compliance team at Brighton Jones plays a crucial role in ensuring the firm operates with the highest ethical and legal standards. Our work spans a broad range of business needs, including regulatory compliance, client agreements, vendor contracts, corporate governance, and day-to-day legal guidance. We are looking for an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented teammate to provide comprehensive paralegal and legal operations support to the Legal and Compliance team. This person will help navigate complex matters, manage details with care and take ownership of meaningful projects that support the broader business.
The ideal candidate is proactive, independent and reliable, while also bringing a strong team-first approach. They communicate clearly, follow through consistently, contribute to a positive team dynamic, and understand that success in this role depends on trust, discretion, collaboration and sound judgement. Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) System Oversight
- Manage the implementation of and subsequently oversee and maintain the firm’s CLM system to ensure agreements are reviewed, approved, and archived in accordance with firm policies.
- Support continuous improvement of legal operations by optimizing the intake process and workflow automation.
Legal Agreements & Corporate Filings
- Create, edit, revise, redline, and proofread documents. Draft/formal legal documents and correspondence.
- Manage all entity management activities, including entity formations, registrations, annual renewals, and state filings.
Regulatory Compliance Support
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of regulatory filings (e.g., Form ADV, state registrations, and related disclosures).
- Review the firm’s marketing content for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain written policies and processes for the Legal and Compliance team.
- Develop testing procedures of firm data in accordance with regulations and provide results and recommendations to senior leadership.
Insurance Administration
- Oversee routine requirements of the firm’s insurance portfolio and program, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the preparation for annual insurance renewals, including gathering documentation from different business stakeholders and completing applications, under attorney supervision.
Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support teams across the firm, providing flexible and timely support on tasks and projects.
- Present and communicate issues in a clear, concise and effective manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from ABA-approved school preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience as a paralegal or legal operations, highly preferred in financial services.
- Familiarity with SEC regulatory framework for investment advisers (e.g., Advisers Act concepts, Form ADV) preferred.
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory exams, or compliance programs within financial services strongly preferred.
- Strong project management and problem-solving mindset with ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and enterprise document management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously under tight deadlines or quick turnaround times.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort working alongside AI tools and a curiosity to continuously learn and adopt new ways of working as technology evolves.
- This is a full-time, exempt, in-office position. We are a work from office culture with a lot of flexibility.
- Pay: $98,000 - $150,000 per year
