Jarvis Law is a leading elder law and estate planning firm with offices in Dublin, Lancaster, and St. Clairsville, Ohio.

As we continue to grow, we are excited to expand into West Virginia and establish a permanent office location to better serve families throughout the region! Training for this role will be based primarily out of our St. Clairsville office. Long term, this position will be based out of our new West Virginia office location and will include travel for educational workshops, community outreach events, and client appointments throughout central and western West Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and grow our presence in a new market while making a meaningful impact on families navigating estate planning, elder law, and long-term care concerns.

About the Role

As a Trusts & Estates Attorney, you will play a key role in client meetings, guiding families through the estate planning process and designing customized plans that meet their needs. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-facing, fast-paced environment and values teamwork, organization, and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct client design meetings (approximately 75% of the time) to understand needs and develop estate plans.
  • Oversee case progress and document drafting (approximately 25% of the time), ensuring client files remain on track.
  • Provide compassionate, client-focused service, demonstrating excellent listening and rapport-building skills.
  • Assist clients in moving forward with their plans, including securing retainer agreements and payments.
  • Ensure compliance with firm procedures and workflows.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach, working closely with our legal support team.
  • Participate in potential client seminars and workshops as opportunities arise.

Qualifications[NS1] [NS2]

We are looking for an attorney with:

  • At least 2 years of estate planning experience.
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active Ohio and West Virginia law license in good standing.
  • ABA membership (preferred).
  • Comfortable working in a performance-driven environment, with accountability to key metrics including client outcomes, revenue, conversion rates, and quality standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A servant leadership mentality and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High personal accountability and commitment to professional excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and prior experience with case management systems.
  • Familiarity with WealthDocs and ElderCounsel (or willingness to learn).
  • Ability to train, mentor, and hold team members accountable.
  • A professional, positive demeanor with the ability to show tact, empathy, and diplomacy.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing to travel within West Virginia and southeastern Ohio.
