THE POSITION

Do you want to help lead a team that strives to ensure all Lehigh County residents who are in crisis have fair and just access to services and treatment that promote recovery, resiliency, and wellness? We are searching for an adaptable, motivated, compassionate candidate to take on life saving professional social service work of a supervisory nature with the Lehigh County Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities/Drug & Alcohol Crisis Intervention/988 and Information & Referral Unit.


As a part-time County Casework Supervisor with our Crisis team, you will assist in the coordination and oversight of program operations and participate in work to ensure the delivery of effective information, referral, and crisis intervention services on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week basis, through rotating shift schedules. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this part-time County Casework Supervisor position, you will function as a working supervisor with our Crisis Intervention/988 and Information & Referral Unit and be responsible for both supervisory and direct service responsibilities. This includes telephone crisis intervention, 988, walk-ins, and mobile outreach services. Your responsibilities in this role will involve:


  • Staff Coordination: Oversee staff coverage and shift scheduling to ensure consistent service delivery, particularly during weekends and high-demand periods
  • Service Guidance: Provide supervision, guidance, and consultation to assigned staff on casework activities, crisis intervention practices, and service delivery expectations
  • Training Support: Develop new and current staff through training, coaching, and skill building activities
  • Community Collaboration: Communicate effectively with consumers, family members, law enforcement, hospitals, and community agencies to coordinate care and resolve service-related concerns
  • Quality Assurance: Review cases and call recordings; ensure documentation complies with all requirements; and analyze findings to inform staff development, training needs, and performance evaluations
  • Direct Crisis Intervention: Answer 988 and crisis line calls, conduct mental health assessments, and complete mobile outreach when needed


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment, 20 hours per week.
  • This position is primarily assigned to nights/weekend/holiday coverage and is subject to rotating shifts based on operational needs.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences..

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
