Clinical Dermatology Medical Assistant | Silver Spring, MD

Award winning practice has an urgent need for a full-time Dermatology Medical Assistant of at least 2 years of recent General or Clinical Dermatology experience to join our team in Silver Spring, MD. Assists with surgical procedures, scribes in EMA, provides suture removal. Starts ASAP in 1-2 weeks with immediate benefits

SHIFT: Mon to Fri, 8-5 | 40 hours/week

PAY: $23.08/hr - $25.48/hr | Based on experience

REQUIREMENTS (do not apply if you do not meet the below)

1. Minimum 2 years of Dermatology Medical Assistant experience in a general Dermatology practice
2. Scribing
3. Proficiency in EMA - ModMed
4. Suture removal
5. Assisting with skin biopsies, Keloid treatment, Cyst removal, skin-tag removal, specimen collection, prescription refills, administering medications

Job Summary

• Assist with surgical Dermatological procedures
• Prepare and administer medications
• Collect tissue specimens, log & prepare for testing
• Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, post-op care in EMA
• Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing for treatment
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, wound care, Pre & Post-Op physicians' instructions.
• Examine & treat patients, hand instruments, provide injections, remove sutures.
• Authorize drug refills, Prior Auths
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
• Inspects sterile items, lay supplies out on sterile field
• Assist physician with surgical procedure while maintaining sterile field
• Assess patients condition throughout exam, procedure or surgery
