We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Medical Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring timely submission of claims, and effective collection of payments. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management, improve cash flow, and support the overall financial health of the practice.
Fast-paced multi-clinician Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation/Pain Management Center in St Clair Shores is seeking a Full-time Medical Biller. Our innovative clinic over 25 years provides a wide-variety of pain management services such as traditional medicine, holistic medicine (acupuncture, IMS etc), regenerative medicine, physical therapy, massage & laser therapy etc. Ideal candidate is a detail oriented multi-tasker with exceptional customer service and telephone skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
Job responsibilities of a medical biller may include, but are not limited to:
- Submitting and Correcting claims to insurance companies
- Accounts receivable (A/R) follow up and submitting delinquent accounts to collections
- Printing A/R reports and reviewing with management
- Assisting clinical staff with billing questions as needed
- Conducting Insurance Verification via in-house EMR (E-clinical) and online/phone with insurance websites as needed (including deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, coverages of procedures etc)
- Contacting insurance companies for appeals, and claim statuses
- Reconciling explanations of benefits (EOBs) and filing
- Printing and sending medical records to insurance companies as requested
- Sending out patient statements and answering patient questions regarding their accounts and setting up payment plans as needed
- Keeping aware of changes in insurance reimbursement
- Work with front desk receptionists to ensure accurate collecting at time of visit
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of Medical billing program.
- Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Knowledge of medical coding best practices including sending out claims, addressing and appealing rejections etc.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers.

Candidate must have completed a Medical Billing program (certificate or higher) and/or have 1+ years’ experience as a Medical Biller including use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System (electronic billing experience required not just paper).
