Job Description
Job Title: Travel Center General Manager @ Lowell
Reports to: Director of Operations
Job Summary: The Travel Center General Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the Travel Center, including, but not limited to: recruiting, training, motivating, developing, and supervising employees; maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming store for both employees and customers; overseeing store inventory; profit and loss analysis. The Travel Center General Manager will work 44 hours per week, plus more if needed.
Job Duties:
· Make regular inspections of the Travel Center to observe store safety & cleanliness and employee
appearance & behavior.
· Coordinate all interviewing, hiring, and training of employees.
· Ensure company policies and guidelines are being followed by all employees.
· Daily bookwork, deposits & change orders.
· ShareFiling employee and store documents.
· Meeting with all department managers to ensure all store and personnel issues are being handled
properly.
· Review employee timesheets for overtime, submit weekly hours to payroll, and pass out weekly
paychecks.
· Maintain inventory of cigarettes, lottery, store items and employee uniforms.
· Ensure all governmental requirements are being met including training, forms, and inspections.
· Hold monthly employee meetings to train employees and discuss any store issues.
· Employee evaluations, counseling, and terminations.
· Handling store complaints, walkouts, and thefts.
· Be available on call 24/7, and able to work a flexible schedule 40+ hours per week, including nights,
days, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
· Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Valid Driver’s License and High School Diploma.
· A minimum of 2 years management experience.
· Must exemplify integrity and accountability at the managerial level.
· Experience developing, managing, and leading a diverse workforce.
· Be highly motivated, goal oriented, and demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving
skills.
· Ability to be on call 24/7, work long hours and a flexible schedule.
