Managing Attorney

About the Role:

To partner with legal team in being responsible for safeguarding our legal interests across domestic and international operations and ensure the company creates and maintains value for stakeholders through supporting the management of full legal compliance and risk management..

Key Responsibilities & Major Accountabilities

Generally applicable:

• Oversee franchise law compliance
• Guide the business on franchising strategy and daily operations
• Manage legal risks and disputes effectively
• Be a strategic legal partner across the organization
• Co-supervision (with Managing Attorney) of legal support staff

Specific to role:

• Preparation, renewal, and timely registration of the FDD in all jurisdictions
• Dispute resolution
• Franchise agreements and contracts. Draft review and negotiate
• Regulatory compliance and oversite
• International franchising support
• Franchise support and advisory
• Risk management and legal strategy

Minimum Requirements

• Education and Credentials- Juris Doctor degree from accredited law school.
• Active license in at least one state
• Willingness to meet local counsel requirements for key foreign markets and willingness to be admitted to additional local and international bars where appropriate
• 5+ yrs experience
• Preferred franchise law experience and expertise
• Dispute and resolution experience
