Job Summary
The Elevator Operator is responsible for safely operating grain handling equipment in compliance with company policies, procedures, and governmental regulations. This role supports facility operations by loading and unloading trucks and railcars, managing grain transfers and blending, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the facility. The operator also participates in Cargill safety programs and provides excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate grain handling equipment to load/unload trucks and railcars.
- Perform grain handling activities including filling/reclaiming ground piles, transferring, and blending.
- Provide courteous and knowledgeable customer service.
- Maintain facility cleanliness, including elevators, grounds, and buildings.
- Monitor equipment to ensure proper working order and report repair needs to management.
- Participate in facility maintenance and safety programs (BBSP, SafeStart).
- Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping and cleaning floors.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb ladders, and perform physically strenuous tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with company policies.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience in grain handling or agricultural facility operations.
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Certifications (if any)
- Relevant safety or equipment operation certifications (preferred but not required).
