Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Awendaw, South Carolina. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing accounting responsibilities with client support and wants a stable Monday through Friday schedule with some flexibility in start and end times. The role offers the chance to contribute across core accounting functions, including payroll support, tax-related work, and day-to-day financial recordkeeping.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records and support timely month-end activities.

• Reconcile and manage general ledger accounts, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and consistently.

• Assist with corporate tax and sales tax processes, including gathering data and supporting filings as needed.

• Contribute to the preparation of corporate tax return documentation and help organize supporting financial information.

• Handle accounting-related data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Provide responsive customer service by answering routine questions and assisting with account-related matters.

• Support payroll-related tasks by reviewing information, helping maintain records, and assisting with processing activities.

• Work with QuickBooks for applicable accounts while adapting to the needs of different engagements.

• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting-focused position.
• Working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support.
• Understanding of payroll processes and related accounting responsibilities.
• Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to communicate professionally and deliver strong customer service.
• Experience with QuickBooks is helpful for client-based accounting work.
