Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading trimming carbon fiber and fiberglass for the automotive, medical, and defense industries. Adheres to quality programs, policies, and initiatives.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Help manage the workflow of the department’s employees, communicating schedules and delegating tasks
- Assessing the work performance of their employees and identifying areas that need improvement
- Train and retrain employees where necessary
- Train and onboard new hires to make sure they understand their roles and responsibilities
- Recommend new employees to the department head based on an assessment of their performance
- Assist in attendance records, monitoring your employee’s daily attendance, communicating with Human Resources, your department head, and operations managers about all issues
- Assist in performance records by communicating your employees’ achievements and setbacks clearly to the department head and operations manager
- Effective communication daily through messages and daily meetings or team huddles
- Aid in inventory of manufactured parts and consumable material
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Team Lead/Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Constant and repetitive movement of fingers, hands, and wrists
Minimum Requirements
· Basic Microsoft Suite knowledge
· Ability to manage time to meet production deadlines and schedules
· Function well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
· Excellent communication skills required for employees and leadership
· Demonstrates excellent team building and teamwork skills
· Possesses good decision making and organizational skills
· Highly motivated and results oriented
· Possesses an eye for detail
· Ability to work a flexible schedule with overtime when production demands
· Willingness and ability to adapt to changing job duties, requirements and cross training as needed
· Professional appearance as defined by the SMI work Rules
· Ability to adhere to all policies outlines in the Code of Conduct as well as all underlying policies
· Must have reliable transportation
