Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Midland, Georgia

Make an impact supporting students who are visually impaired in an engaging, school-based setting. A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated educator to serve as an on-site Teacher for the Visually Impaired, beginning in early August and extending through late May. Work closely with a district that values matching educator strengths to student needs and provides support for both experienced teachers and those looking to broaden their skill set.

What We’re Looking For:

• Certified with an active Georgia Educator Certificate for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience teaching students with visual impairments is strongly preferred
• Comfortable completing daily service logs to track progress and interventions
• Able to collaborate with a district team during the interview process to discuss caseload and specific student placements based on your background and preferences
• Committed to engaging with students onsite (remote/virtual services are not applicable)
• Organized, adaptive, and able to manage a full-time (37.5 hours/week) schedule, with flexibility to consider part-time depending on needs
• Open to working across a range of age groups depending on eventual caseload assignment

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a school-based environment
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Document and maintain daily service logs as required by district standards
• Collaborate with staff, families, and related service providers to promote student success
• Participate in any required pre- or post-planning days as needed
