We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support portfolio management activities for a growing team in Richardson, Texas. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can confidently engage customers, resolve past-due account issues, and deliver a high-quality service experience in both English and Spanish. The person in this role will balance account follow-up, payment negotiations, and accurate documentation while helping maintain strong portfolio performance.

Responsibilities:
• Contact customers regarding overdue balances and guide discussions toward practical repayment solutions.
• Negotiate payment arrangements that align with account status and company guidelines.
• Investigate account details and use research methods to locate hard-to-reach customers when needed.
• Address customer questions related to billing, account status, and collection activity with clarity and courtesy.
• Draft and send collection notices, follow-up communications, and other account-related correspondence.
• Maintain thorough records of customer interactions, commitments, disputes, and account updates in the appropriate systems.
• Assist with workout plans, write-off-related processes, and other portfolio support activities as required.
• Compile delinquency data and help prepare recurring reports that track account performance and collection progress.• 1-2 years of experience in collections, account management, billing, or a related financial services role.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base.
• Working knowledge of consumer or commercial collections practices and payment resolution techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, along with comfort using business systems such as Salesforce.
• Strong negotiation, organization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to document account activity accurately and manage sensitive information with professionalism.
• Collaborative approach, dependable work ethic, and a positive attitude when working with customers and internal teams.
