Position: Clinical Assistant – Urgent Care

Location: Juneau, Alaska
Department: Urgent Care
Employment Type: Full Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Days

Salary Range: $60,000 – $83,000 annually

Key Responsibilities-

Clinical Support

  • Room patients and obtain age-appropriate vital signs
  • Update medical histories and medication records
  • Assist providers with exams, treatments, and minor procedures
  • Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection
  • Conduct EKGs, nebulizer treatments, ear lavage, cast removal, dressing changes, and other approved procedures
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent situations

Patient Care & Education

  • Provide patient education and discharge instructions
  • Support patient flow and maintain clinic efficiency
  • Assist with patient transport and ambulation as needed
  • Communicate professionally with patients and multidisciplinary teams

Administrative & Operational Duties

  • Accurately document patient information within EMR systems
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness and stock supplies
  • Perform quality assurance checks on equipment
  • Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
  • Answer phones and coordinate patient communication


Qualifications:-

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare or urgent care experience
  • Urgent Care experience is REQUIRED


One of the Following Required-

  • Completion of a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program
  • CNA experience
  • EMT experience
  • Community Health Aide experience
  • Relevant Clinical Assistant experience


Preferred Skills:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • EMR and computer proficiency
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient triage
