Job Description
A highly respected and well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its team in the Carrolton area. The firm handles a wide range of practice areas, but this position is dedicated exclusively to family law and offers the chance to work alongside several highly experienced family law attorneys on sophisticated and meaningful matters.
The firm is seeking an attorney with direct Texas family law experience who can confidently manage cases involving divorce, child custody, adoption, and related domestic matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys advocacy, client counseling, and working within a collaborative team environment. The attorney can be based out of the firm's Dallas or Arlington office.
Responsibilities
- Handle family law matters including divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, modifications, and related proceedings
- Manage cases from intake through resolution, including hearings, mediation, negotiation, and trial preparation
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
- Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and contested proceedings
- Provide thoughtful and responsive guidance to clients during sensitive legal matters
- Collaborate closely with experienced family law attorneys and support staff
Qualifications
- Active Texas Bar license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of direct Texas family law experience required
- Strong knowledge of Texas family law procedure and courtroom practice
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage files while working effectively within a team setting
- Willingness to travel occasionally between offices or for case-related matters
Work Environment & Schedule
- Based out of the Carrolton, TX office
- Occasional travel as needed
- Collaborative department with experienced attorneys and strong support staff
- Stable, established platform with excellent internal resources
Compensation & Benefits
- $120,000–$200,000 annual base salary, depending on experience
- Performance-based bonuses on top of base compensation
